The Lourdes Football Program 2008 season came to an end in the first round of the Minnesota State AAA football tournament with a 48-36 loss to Minneapolis De La Salle on Friday November 7th at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. Lourdes finished the seaosn with a 9-3 record.

Lourdes scored 4 times in the first half to take a 29-14 lead into half time. The first two touchdowns scored in the first quarter were both 1 yard touchdown runs by Todd Bestgen. Lourdes third touchdown of the half came on a 38 yard touchdown pass from Tyler Greguson to Nic Jensen. Tyler Greguson capped off the scoring in the first half with a 1 yard touchdown run. Lourdes again scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter with a 4 yard run by Tyler Greguson. Lourdes had an opportunity to win the in the last seconds of the game with the ball on the De La Salle 11 yard line with 7 seconds left to go in the game, down 42-36. A 99 yard interception return for a touchdown by the De La Salle defense sealed the victory for De La Salle.

The Lourdes offense finished the game with 22 first downs and 442 total yards (217 rushing, 225 passing).
